Bare Beginnings
Tia wasn’t always an Award-winning choreographer working with global superstars like Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, and Megan Thee Stallion. Before the bright lights and industry accolades, her journey began in Brooklyn, NY, where her passion for dance took root in her teenage years.
Raised by a single mother with little to nothing, she faced adversity that would shape her relentless work ethic. Determined to pursue her dream, she cleaned dance studios in exchange for discounted classes and performed on subway trains to afford more training. It was this hustle and sacrifice that paved the way for her first professional booking straight out of high school—a moment that solidified her belief that dance could be more than just a passion, but a career.
That defining opportunity led her to sign with Bloc Agency in 2011, and by 2012, she took a leap of faith, booking a one-way ticket to Los Angeles.
The Breakthrough
Arriving in Los Angeles with nothing but her talent and determination, Tia quickly began making a name for herself, dancing for global icons like Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, and Usher.
In 2016, she got her first major break as a choreographer at Coachella with Halsey—a defining moment that signaled her transition from dancer to sought-after choreographer. That opportunity came through the guidance of legendary choreographer Fatima Robinson, who saw Tia’s potential and took her under her wing, giving her the platform to elevate her artistry.
As she developed her career, she leaned on those who believed in her, pouring everything into her craft while learning from the best in the business. With every performance, collab, and creative challenge, she sharpened her skills, growing from an in-demand dancer to a visionary choreographer.
